Jason de Caires Taylor Underwater Sculpures

Jason de Caires Taylor, has gained international recognition for his unique and amazing underwater sculpture parks.

His permanent installations are designed to act as artificial reefs, attracting tourists and diverting them away from our fragile natural reefs. His works symbolize a striking symbiosis between man and nature, and highlight our need to understand and protect the natural world.

Banksy parachuting rat shot down in Melbourne!

I have been meaning to go down and take a picture of this little guy for ages, just wanted to have a look for myself. The only Banksy left in melbourne! I only live around the corner and now it is gone - I can't believe it! I wonder how the person who drilled the hole is feeling after all the hype?

Hiromi Tango

Hiromi Tango, who currently lives in Sydney, is born in Japan and married to the Australian artist Craig Walsh.

Her amazing work which is usually an interactive multi-layered installation performance is a collection of colorful knitted yarns and found objects, sometimes toys, flowers, donated pieces from the public, you name it. The artwork grows and evolves together with the surrounding world and those in it.

"I am particularly interested in how the intervention of an artist in a particular space can generate unexpected moments of intimacy and evasion, and how fundamental aspects of human relations can contribute to the art-making process".

Aurora Robson: plastic art out of junk

Canadian artist Aurora Robson's fantastic colourful plastic sculptures made from recycled plastic bottles. Each sculpture uses around 20,000 bottles.

I love this one as it was Made from 100% plastic marine debris collected by the Hawaii Wildlife Fund and created with students from Parker School in Waimea, Hawaii.

it is pure 100% plastic marine debris, no paint used to enhance the colours.

What a great way to learn about our environment!

Rainbow Pinwheel installation by Ara Peterson and Jim Drain

Rainbow Pinwheels, by artists Ara Peterson and Jim Drain are part of an interdisciplinary 17 day festival (20 April - 5 May 2012) illustrating how audio and visual art forms complement and influence each other, featuring musicians, designers, filmmakers, and chefs : Transmission LA, AV Club presented by The Avant/Garde Diaries, curated by Mike D from the Beastie Boys for MOCA.

The pinwheels are constantly spinning as you walk under them giving you an amazing visual experience. Driven by regular fans strategically positioned!
